I'm Eric. A few years ago, I started paying attention to a pattern I'd missed for most of my life.
The cheap stuff I kept replacing every six months had quietly cost me more than the well-made version would have cost once. The "deal" was never the deal. The trendy purchase I had to have last spring sat in a drawer by fall. And the things I actually loved — the ones that earned their place — had something in common. They weren't always the cheapest. They weren't always the most expensive. They were the things that paid me back — in money saved, in time reclaimed, in small daily moments of "this just works."
That's the Ownership Dividend. The return you get from owning something built to last, chosen on purpose, and used until it's worn out.

Who I am
I'm not a journalist. I'm not a celebrity reviewer. I'm a regular person based in Michigan who got tired of buying the wrong things and started paying attention to the right ones. Everything on this site is something I own, use, and would buy again. I write about a product when I've lived with it long enough to know if it earned its place.
